Kombi Kovers

The upholstery is offered in the black pebble grain vinyl that was used until the end of the 1958 production year and the grey pebble grain that was used from the start of the 1959 Production year until it was replaced with the “Salt and Pepper” upholstery that was used in 1965 through 1967 production years.  All patterns that are used in the production of the upholstery were taken from original, still intact seating.  The material used for both the black and the grey seat covers is a strong, thick, non-stretch vinyl and is manufactured as an exact duplication of the original pebble graining.

What is included:

Seat cover kits come with a layer of burlap, jute/sisel spring cover, a thin layer of cotton, and the covers for both the backrest and the bottom. They DO NOT come with the hair pads or the thick cotton pads. The thick cotton pads can be purchased separately on this site and the hair pads can be purchased from Wolfsburg West. 

There are two types of seat padding that Volkswagen used throughout 1950 and 1964. It was either hair padding over burlap, with a thin layer of cotton over the pad, or a thick layer of cotton over burlap.

The early bench seats and early walkthroughs used hair padding for the bottom and thick cotton padding for the backrest.

The humpback seats, 1/3 2/3 bench seats, and late walkthrough seats used hair pads for both the bottom and the backrest. 

As of now, the hair pads for the walkthrough seats are not available for 1958 through 1962. We choose to use the same thick cotton pads used for the middle and back seat bottoms.
